XTC-3D High-Performance 3D Print Coating is a smooth, protective coating used to place a glossy finish on 3D printed parts. The coat finishes clean, so there will be zero brush strokes on your finished print. Just one ounce of this magical coating can cover over 100 square inches. XTC-3D dries to a hard, sandable, and paintable coating - you can do it all with XTC-3D, including adding color and metal effects to the finish! Do you have a print that needs a little maintenance? Don't worry! Paint some XTC-3D on there and your print will look perfect.
XTC-3D works with nearly every filament, including PLA, ABS, and Laywood. Don't limit yourself to just your 3D printed parts - XTC-3D works on other materials like wood, plaster, fabric, cardboard, and paper.
Before you start measuring and mixing, be sure that you have taken all the proper safety precautions, as XTC-3D can be harmful to skin and an irritant to eyes. Wear safety glasses, long sleeves and safety gloves to minimize skin contact, and be sure to use in a well-ventilated area. Mixed XTC-3D R is exothermic, meaning it generates heat. A large, concentrated mass of mixed material in a container can generate enough heat to melt a plastic cup, burn your skin, or ignite combustible materials. If material begins to exotherm, move it to an open air environment.
If you are adding more than one layer of XTC-3D to your object, let the first layer cure until it is almost completely dry. For best results, layers should be applied as thin as possible. If you plan on painting over XTC-3D, prime, and then use acrylic enamel paint. It looks best if you lightly sand the surface of your object before printing.
You can add color and filler to XTC-3D to create different effects and textures to your finished products. Certain liquid dyes are suitable, but fillers must be dry, like bronze powder, for example.
