From the beginning, ZMorph has designed their manufacturing machines to be multi-tools; with interchangeable tool heads, you can quickly swap from 3D printer to CNC mill to laser engraver and back again. Where other machines are "jacks of all trades, masters of none," that is not the case for the ZMorph. With its feature-rich offering, the ZMorph VX is a tool to be reckoned with.

Let's break it down.

Built to Excel

The frame of the ZMorph VX is tough, and built like a tank with its thick aluminum and stainless steel sheet metal body, and its magnetically removable enclosure panels. For 3D printing, the included glass bed can easily reach 100°C. For CNC milling and laser engraving, you can quickly swap to the CNC Worktable which will securely hold your materials in place. The emergency stop button on the front is essential so you can immediately stop any milling operation should anything go wrong. There are even quality-of-life features like a full-color touchscreen, automatic calibration wizards, quiet operation, and one that cannot be overstated: The Closed Loop System. Should any 3D print skip steps from a curious hand or too quick of a movement, these smart motors will detect it and pick up the print right where it left off.

The closed loop system helps keep every axis stay in the right position and correct it should anything go wrong.

A Tool For Every Job

This machine is a true multi-tool. With one screw undone, you can change this machine from a precision 3D printer to a laser engraver or CNC mill. Each tool head features quick disconnect cables for all the electronic components, which means you just need to undo one screw and disconnect the cables, and then you’re ready to move onto the next step in your production. There are several tool heads available: a 3D printing extruder, the 1.75mm Dual Extruder for high-quality two material 3D prints, the CNC Pro for engraving and milling plastics to soft metals, the Laser PRO for laser engraving and basic cutting, or the Thick Paste Extruder for 2D and 3D decorating using thick pastes like ceramics or chocolate. Keep in mind that while the Thick Paste Extruder works great with extruding unique designs on baked goods, it isn’t FDA approved so you’ll want to save this for a fun birthday party, and not for your bakery.

Each toolhead can easily be swapped out for another with a simple cable swap and one wingnut on the front.

Voxelizer 2

An all-in-one device needs an all-in-one software: Voxelizer 2. No matter the tool head you’re using, you can find preset material profiles, print settings, laser intensity, or spindle options all neatly packaged. For 3D printing with the Dual Extruder Toolhead, you can assign a material to support structure, mix two colors of filament to create a third, or use image mapping to easily add a logo onto a selected 3D model. Set feed rates for CNC milling, or convert images to laser cutting patterns all within this software. And if you aren’t sure of the right way to start, ZMorph has a 100-page guidebook detailing properties of materials they’ve tested, along with recommended settings for each operation. There’s even a ZMorph Academy to walk you through from the just getting started all the way to advanced post-processing of your creations.

ZMorph Academy has everything from a series of classes and tutorials for various levels of skill and handy guides for different materials.
