MatterHackers is excited to announce a new MatterControl update (version 1.2.2) which includes several new features like the Pop Out Settings and Controls Windows, Peer-to-Peer options, the Hexagon infill setting and much much more. Come take a look at whats new.

Pop Out Windows

MatterControl now has a 'Pop Out Window' feature that allows you to 'Pop Out' your 'Settings' and 'Controls' as well as the ‘3D View’ and ‘Layer View’ into a separate windows. You have all the same functionality as before, ‘Insert’ a new object onto the print bed, edit, export and view your objects, but now you can move your windows wherever you want. You have the power to create your own layout preferences.


Peer-to-Peer Capability

As of MatterControl 1.2.2, you can now to send files to the new MatterControl Touch as well as other computers running MatterControl Desktop. Here are the step by step instructions on how to share your files.

Sending from desktop to desktop

Receiving:

  1. Sign into receiving MatterControl Desktop

  2. Go to 'Configuration' and 'Cloud Monitoring', then select 'Enable'.

  3. Once the file has been sent from the sending desktop MatterControl, you can find your file in the “Queue” ready for you to view and print.

Sending:

  1. Sign into sending MatterControl Desktop.

  2. Select “Edit” in the Queue.

  3. Select the file that you want to send wirelessly to your second computer  and press the ‘Send’ button at the bottom of the Queue.

  4. Select the printer that you're receiving computer is connected to, and click “Continue”.

  5. Once the file is sent, you can select “Close".

 

 

 

 


Sending Files From MatterControl Desktop to MatterControl Touch

Receiving:

  1. Sign into your MatterControl account from MatterControl Touch.

  2. Go to 'Options' and 'Cloud Monitoring', then select 'Enable'.

  3. Once the file has been sent from the desktop version of MatterControl you can find your file in the “Queue” ready for you to view and print.

Sending:

  1. Sign into MatterControl Desktop.

  2. Select “Edit” in the Queue.

  3. Select the file that you want to send wirelessly to your second computer  and press ‘Send’.

  4. Select the printer that you're receiving computer is connected to, and click “Continue”.

  5. Once the file is sent, you can select 'Close'.

 

 

 

New Simple, Intermediate, and Advanced Mode's in 'Settings'

Simple’ mode will allow you to make minor adjustments to your print, like layer height, fill density, support material, and rafts.

'Intermediate' is where you can customize layer and perimeters, infill, skirts and brims, and support material with more detail than you would in Simple settings. You can even adjust Filament and Printer specifications.

'Advanced' allows you to control every aspect of your print, including all the above features, plus Repairs, Output Options, Multiple Extruders, and other advanced content.
