Formlabs Formlabs Form Studio 1 Wash+Cure

The Form Studio Wash+Cure is a compact, all-in-one post-processing station designed to streamline finishing for resin 3D prints. It handles both solvent washing and UV curing in a single unit, removing residual resin and completing the chemical cure to maximize part strength, toughness, and heat resistance. Compatible with IPA, TPM, and Resin Washing Solution, it's an essential addition to any resin printing workflow.

  • Agitates IPA or alternative solvents for thorough, efficient residual resin removal.
  • Liftable internal basket lets parts air dry after washing, preventing over-soaking and warping.
  • 405 nm UV curing boosts part strength, toughness, heat resistance, and creep resistance.
  • Leaves a harder, less tacky surface finish on completed prints.

Formlabs Form Studio Wash+Cure

Wash and Cure Form Studio 1 Prints in One Unit

To take resin prints from sticky to finished in one spot, Form Studio Wash+Cure washes parts in stirred solvent, then cures them under 405 nm light. It works with IPA, TPM and Formlabs Resin Washing Solution, and Form Studio 1 shows the wash and cure times you need on its screen when a print finishes.

Key Features of the Formlabs Form Studio Wash+Cure:

  • Wash on the Platform or in the Basket: An impeller keeps solvent moving around parts on the build platform or in the internal basket.
  • Lift to Drain: The basket lifts out and hooks on the bucket rim, so parts drain instead of soaking.
  • Turntable Cure: Swap the bucket for the turntable and parts rotate under 405 nm light for even curing.
  • One Knob: Turn to set the time and press to start. The unit remembers your last setting.

Wash With the Lid Closed

To clean every surface, the impeller keeps solvent moving around parts for the whole cycle. Formlabs recommends washing with the lid closed, which slows evaporation and keeps solvent vapor inside the unit.

The default wash is 5 minutes, which works for Alpha Resins. Pick the high impeller speed for IPA and the low speed for water and other solvents.

Lift the Basket to Drain

To keep parts from soaking after the cycle, lift the basket out of the solvent and hook it on the bucket rim. Let parts washed in IPA air dry for at least 30 minutes before curing. Parts washed in TPM need a water rinse instead.

Wear gloves while you handle washed parts, solvent and the basket.

Cure on the Turntable

To cure, lift out the wash bucket and Wash+Cure switches to cure mode on its own. Drop in the turntable, space your dry parts out and close the cover. Opening the cover turns the cure lights off.

Alpha Resins cure fully in 5 minutes. Tough 1500 Resin cures in about 30 minutes, and resins that need heat, such as Rigid 10K, need a Form Cure because Wash+Cure has no heater.

Good to Know

  • Prints taller than 200 mm need to come off the build platform before washing in Wash+Cure.
  • Keep a separate wash bucket for resins that can carry color or particles into other parts. The Form Studio Wash+Cure Rinse Bucket is sold separately.
  • Already own Form Wash and Form Cure? Form Cure cures three to five times faster than Wash+Cure because it adds heat. Form Wash V2 needs arm adapters for Build Platform Flex, which Formlabs says are coming.
  • Formlabs says Alpha Resin cure profiles for Form Cure will arrive in a firmware update through PreForm.
