Formlabs VOC Extractor
Filtered Air for Form Studio 1
To pull resin vapors away from your desk while you print, the VOC Extractor connects to the exhaust port on the back of Form Studio 1 and filters the air through a pre-filter and two activated carbon filters. It also fits the exhaust port on Form 4 and Form 4B.

- UL GREENGUARD Gold With Alpha Resins: Alpha Resins printed on Form Studio 1 with the VOC Extractor at fan speed 2 are certified for low chemical emissions during printing.
- Fan Speed for the Job: Speed 1 runs about 5 dBA quieter than speed 2, and speed 3 makes up for a long or bent hose.
- Replaceable Filters: The pre-filter and both carbon filters swap out, and the VOC Extractor Replacement Kit includes four pre-filters and two carbon filters.
- One Touch Button: Turn it on and pick a fan speed when a print starts.
Connects to the Back of the Printer
To set it up, remove the exhaust plug from the back of Form Studio 1 and connect the hose adapter. Keep the hose short with as few bends as you can, since long or kinked runs cut airflow.
Turn the VOC Extractor on when a print starts and off when it ends, which makes the filters last longer.
UL GREENGUARD Gold, and What It Covers
To print with UL GREENGUARD Gold certified low emissions, run Alpha Resins on Form Studio 1 with the VOC Extractor at fan speed 2. That is the only certified setting. The certification covers printing, not washing, so choose and ventilate your wash solvent with the same care.
All resins release VOCs, and Formlabs notes that long use in enclosed rooms with poor airflow and no filtration can lead to allergies. Gloves stay on whenever you handle liquid resin.
