Prusa Prusa INDX 4-Tool Conversion Kit for CORE One/One+
The INDX Multi-Tool Conversion Kit transforms your CORE One/One+ 3D printer into an advanced multi-material system with four to eight independent toolheads. Each material gets its own dedicated path, enabling you to combine rigid and flexible parts, use dissolvable supports, and print multi-color models without the waste of traditional systems.
- Four to eight independent toolheads for true multi-material printing capabilities.
- Virtually zero filament waste with no wipe towers or purge blocks needed.
- Combine rigid and flexible materials in a single print job.
Prusa INDX Multi-Tool Conversion Kit for CORE One/One+
Highly Efficient System
INDX Multi-Tool Conversion Kit upgrades CORE One and CORE One+ 3D printers with four to eight independent toolheads for multi-material 3D printing without waste or wipe towers.
Key Features of the Prusa INDX Multi-Tool Conversion Kit for CORE One/One+:
- Switch between different nozzle sizes during the same 3D print.
- 3D print multi-color models without throwing away half your filament.
- Smart Head with induction coil for precise tool changes.
True Multi-Material Printing Without Waste
Each toolhead has its own dedicated material path, eliminating the need for wasteful purge towers and wipe blocks. This revolutionary approach lets you 3D print complex, multi-color, multi-material objects while using virtually every millimeter of your filament.
- No wipe towers or purge blocks required.
- Each material maintains its own dedicated path.
- Dramatically reduces filament consumption.
Advanced Material Combination Capabilities
Go beyond simple color changes and create functional parts that combine properties no single filament can deliver. 3D print rigid structural components alongside flexible joints, or combine standard materials with water-soluble supports to achieve complex geometries.
- Combine rigid and flexible materials seamlessly.
- Use dissolvable supports for complex overhangs.
- Switch nozzle sizes within the same 3D print job.
Precision Smart Head Technology
The Smart Head features an induction coil system that ensures fast, reliable tool changes with exceptional precision. This advanced system seamlessly integrates with your CORE One/One+ 3D printer for professional-grade multi-material printing performance.
- Induction coil technology for reliable tool changes.
- Extremely fast toolhead switching capabilities.
- Seamless integration with CORE One/One+ systems.

FAQ
Does the INDX work with my existing CORE One (without the Plus upgrade)?
Yes, you will end up with CORE One+ with INDX. The INDX was co-developed with Prusa specifically for the CORE One architecture. It is not compatible with MK4S, MK3S+, or other 3D printers.
Should I get the 4-tool or 8-tool kit?
Start with the 4-tool kit if you want to try multi-material without committing to the full 8. You can add individual passive tools later. The 8-tool kit gives the best per-tool value, and you can 3D print more complex objects right from the start.
How much build volume do I lose?
About 15 mm in the Y-axis and 2mm in the X-axis due to the docking station and purge collector additions. On the CORE One+ (250 × 220 × 270 mm base volume), the total build volume with the INDX mounted is 248×205×270 mm.
Does it work with third-party filament?
Yes. The INDX can be used with 1.75 mm filament from any manufacturer. No RFID, no proprietary spools, no vendor lock-in. Use Prusament, third-party brands, or whatever you have on the shelf.
How does this compare to the Prusa XL toolchanger?
The XL is Prusa's large-format toolchanger with a 360 x 360 x 360 mm build volume. If you need big parts, fast swaps, or upcoming specialty toolheads (silicone printing, pick-and-place for embedded inserts), the XL is the right machine. The INDX on a CORE One+ gives you a smaller footprint (248 x 205 x 270 mm effective), more tools (8 vs 5), an enclosed chamber with elevated temperature (55°C), and a significantly lower total price.
Think of it this way: the XL is for people who need the build volume and a full-scale active toolchanger. The INDX is for people who want the most material flexibility in a compact, enclosed format. Both are toolchangers with negligible purge waste. They just serve different use cases.
Does the INDX work with CORE One L?
The dedicated kit for the CORE One L is coming at a later time. The CORE One+ version is not compatible with the L.
Is there a fully assembled, pre-installed version?
A 3D printer with the INDX already installed will be offered at a later time by Prusa.
How does the nozzle calibration work?
Prusa initially used the automatic nozzle calibration system from the Prusa XL. It relies on a metal pin mounted in the middle of the print bed, which each nozzle taps from various sides. Newly, the INDX conversion kit includes a brand new toolhead offset calibration system, which is permanently mounted outside the print area. If you are wondering why there are two targets, one is always reading the background noise to get extremely precise readings from the main sensor in any environment. The result is an easier and faster setup with improved repeatability.
What are the CORE One dimensions with INDX installed?
With doors closed and spools attached, Width 620 mm, Height 690 mm, Depth 470 mm.
