Welcome Back 3D Printing Meetup Recap
MatterHackers Meetups are back! We recently hosted our first meetup at our new headquarters - we had special guests, new machines to show off, and most importantly - 3D printing fun!
On September 30th, we were excited to have our first in-person meetup of 2021, and it was amazing to see so many people in person. Attendees from all over southern California came to our new headquarters at 20321 Valencia Circle in Lake Forest for fun, tours of the new facility, and as always - tacos! Keep up with all of our events by signing up for our newsletter here.

YouTube personality, award-winning science educator, and entertainer, Kyle Hill came down from LA to start filming for a new video that will feature a 3D printed project that is out of this world. Kyle bring years of edutainment experience to all of his awesome science videos, and we’re extremely excited to be working with him. More on that to come soon! Follow Kyle here.
Raise3D was on-hand to demo their two newest machines - the E2 Carbon Fiber, the Pro3, and the Pro3 Plus - running prints to show off their capabilities. The E3CF is specifically designed to 3D print with advanced materials like NylonX, a carbon-fiber-reinforced nylon filament, for engineering-level products. The Pro3 Series is the next iteration in Raise3D’s line of consumer and professional platforms with upgrades that include self-leveling beds, independent modular print heads, a flexible build plate for easy print removal, and stiffer Z-rods for even more accurate 3D printing. See all Raise3D 3D printers and materials here.
David Shorey of Shorey Designs was also here to show off his ever-evolving fashion made from fabric, 3D printing, and other materials. David has been involved in the digital effects industry creating visual effects featured in various feature films. His work in spatial design led him to bring the virtual into reality through the use of new digital fabrication tools, like 3D printers, to redefine fashion in new and exciting ways. Check out Shorey Designs here.
Joan Horvath and Rich Cameron, 3D printing consultants and co-founders of Nonscriptum LLC, were also here to showcase their educational materials including the first viewing of their Make: Geometry book and 3D printed models. Visit Nonscriptum LLC here.
MatterHackers’ very own Andrew Rossol was showcasing his Combat Robots. If you are interested in Combat Robots and Battle Bots - stay tuned to our events page! We may have a special event brewing just for this!
GameCraft Brewing was our libations sponsor - a first for us! Their refreshing and extremely tasty brews can be found a hop and skip away from HQ in Laguna Hills near the 5 freeway. They offer made-from-scratch food and beer on-site, and they have a wide list of revolving lagers, ales, stouts, and more - they truly have a beer for every taste! Visit their tasting room Fridays through Sundays until October 31st to enjoy the seasonal offerings of Oktoberfest while they last. Visit GameCraft Brewing here.
As always, Tacos a Domicillo was on hand with their mouth-watering chicken, carne asada, and pork tacos, cooked fresh with hand-made tortillas.
