Revopoint Revopoint Marker Block Kit (Magnetic)
The Revopoint Marker Block Kit gives your scanner reference points without putting anything on the part. Set the magnetic blocks around a featureless, symmetrical, or finished object and the scanner tracks off their marker points instead of adhesive dots, so nothing has to be stuck on, peeled off, or left unscanned. Four shapes cover different jobs, and the blocks hold to steel surfaces and to each other so a layout stays put through a pass and repositions in a second between them.
- Scan finished, painted, and delicate parts without applying adhesive markers
- Four magnetic shapes: balls, domes, pyramids, and bars for different angles and heights
- Standard 6 mm marker points work across the full Revopoint scanner line

Reference Points Without Sticking Anything to the Part
A 3D scanner tracks its position by recognizing features. On a smooth, symmetrical, or featureless surface there is nothing to recognize, so the scan drifts or loses tracking entirely. The usual fix is adhesive marker dots applied directly to the object, which works but means covering the part, peeling them off afterward, and accepting that the covered areas did not get scanned.
Marker blocks solve the same problem from beside the part instead of on it. Set the blocks around the object and the scanner locks onto their marker points rather than the part itself. Nothing touches the surface, nothing has to be removed afterward, and the areas that would have been hidden under stickers are captured along with everything else. For finished parts, painted surfaces, artifacts, and anything you cannot put adhesive on, that is the difference between scanning it and not.
The blocks are magnetic, so they hold to steel work surfaces and to each other, and they reposition in a second when a pass needs a different angle.
Four Shapes, Four Jobs
Each shape presents marker points at different heights and angles, which is what gives the scanner non-coplanar references to triangulate from. Flat dots on a flat table all sit in one plane and leave the tracking ambiguous. A mix of shapes does not.
- Ball markers (30 mm) present marker points in every direction, so they stay visible no matter where the scanner is
- Dome markers (41 mm base, 22 mm tall) sit low and stable, for scanning across a work surface
- Pyramid markers (67 mm base, 55 mm tall) lift the object clear of the table so the sides and underside can be reached in one setup
- Bar markers (12 x 12 x 205 mm) have magnetic strips on all four sides and M6 mounting points, so they stack, span, and mount to turntables
How to Set Them Up
The principle is coverage from multiple angles. The scanner needs to see enough marker points at every stage of the pass to keep its position, so the blocks go around the object rather than behind it.
- Distribute. Place several blocks around the object at varying heights. Never work from a single block, which gives the software too few references and produces stitching errors.
- Clear the sightlines. Position blocks so the object does not hide them from the scanner as you move around it.
- Elevate if needed. Use pyramid markers to raise the part off the surface when the sides and bottom have to be captured in the same session.
- Scan in marker mode. Select marker or global marker tracking in your scanning software so the scanner aligns to the marker points.
Keep the marker dots clean. Dust, fingerprints, and scuffs reduce contrast, and low-contrast markers are the usual cause of tracking loss that looks like a scanner problem.
Which Kit Do You Need?
Buy the Marker Block Kit for a general-purpose setup, or a single shape if you already know what your parts need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which scanners do these work with?
Any 3D scanner with a marker tracking mode. Within the Revopoint line that covers POP, POP 2, POP 3, POP 3 Plus, POP 4, RANGE, RANGE 2, INSPIRE, INSPIRE 2, MIRACO, MIRACO Pro, MIRACO Plus, MetroX, MetroX Pro, MetroY, MetroY Pro, MetroY Ultra, Trackit, and Trackit SR. The marker points are a standard 6 mm inner and 10 mm outer diameter, so other scanners that read reflective markers can use them too.
Do I still need adhesive markers?
Sometimes. Blocks handle the space around the object, but a large featureless panel may still need dots on its own surface for the scanner to track across the middle. The two are complementary, and the Marker Block Kit and Bar Marker Kit both include 500 replacement dots.
How many blocks do I need?
More than one, always. A single block gives the software too few reference points and causes stitching errors. Plan on several distributed around the part, with enough in view at any moment to hold tracking.
What are the magnets for?
They hold the blocks to steel surfaces and to each other, so a layout stays put during a pass and still repositions instantly between passes. The bar markers carry magnetic strips on all four sides and M6 mounting points for stacking and turntable mounting.
Can I replace the marker dots?
Yes. The dots are consumable and scuff over time. The Marker Block Kit and the Bar Marker Kit each include 500 replacements.
Will these help with shiny or dark parts?
Indirectly. Blocks solve tracking, not capture. A reflective or very dark surface still scatters structured light poorly and needs scanning spray or a laser-mode scanner to capture geometry. What the blocks do is keep the scanner aligned while you work on that surface.
