Revopoint Revopoint MINI 2 3D Scanner Standard Edition
The Revopoint MINI 2 is a high-precision blue light 3D scanner built for capturing extraordinary detail on small and intricate objects. Dual-camera blue structured light resolves down to 0.02 mm point distance with 0.05 mm single-frame accuracy, making it the right tool for jewelry designers, miniature makers, engineers, and researchers who need industrial-grade results in a portable form factor. Whether you are reverse engineering a complex component or digitizing delicate artifacts, the MINI 2 captures the detail that general-purpose scanners flatten out.
- Resolves fine surface detail on small and complex objects, down to a 10 mm minimum scan size
- Blue light scanning technology delivers sharp, high-fidelity 3D captures with minimal noise
- Compact and portable design makes it easy to bring professional scanning to any workspace

Precision Built for Small Parts
Most handheld scanners are built for objects you can hold in two hands. The Revopoint MINI 2 is built for the ones you hold between two fingers. Dual-camera blue structured light resolves detail down to 0.02 mm point distance, which is the range where jewelry settings, dental models, machined fittings, miniatures, and small mechanical parts stop being a scanning compromise and start being a usable digital model.
Blue light is the reason. Its shorter wavelength projects a finer, sharper pattern than the infrared or white light used by general-purpose scanners, so edges stay crisp and fine surface texture survives the capture. A 9-axis IMU keeps frames stitching cleanly when you scan handheld, and a 2 MP color camera with flash LEDs captures full-color texture alongside the geometry.

Blue Light, Two Cameras, Real Detail
The MINI 2 projects a Class 1 blue structured light pattern and reads it back with two 2 MP depth cameras. The shorter wavelength holds a tighter pattern on the surface, and the stereo pair triangulates it into geometry at up to 0.02 mm point distance. On a part with sharp internal corners or a shallow engraved mark, that is the difference between a scan you can measure from and a scan you have to guess at.
- Dual-camera blue structured light with Class 1 light source
- Up to 0.02 mm single-frame precision, 0.05 mm single-frame accuracy
- 2 MP depth cameras plus a 2 MP RGB camera for full-color scans
- Flash LEDs for even, shadow-free color capture
Fast Enough to Scan Handheld
At up to 16 frames per second, the MINI 2 builds a model while you move around the part instead of making you hold still between captures. A 9-axis IMU with gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer tracks how the scanner is moving and helps stitch frames together, so a slightly unsteady pass does not cost you the alignment. Three tracking modes let you pick the right approach for the surface in front of you.
- Up to 16 fps capture for continuous handheld scanning
- 9-axis IMU anti-shake tracking
- Feature tracking for parts with distinct geometry
- Marker and global marker tracking for smooth or repetitive surfaces
Wi-Fi 6 or USB-C, Phone or Workstation
Connect over USB Type-C for a plug-and-play session at the bench, or over Wi-Fi 6 when you want to scan without a cable in the way. Revo Scan runs on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, so the same scanner works with a workstation for heavy post-processing and with a phone when you need to carry the setup to the part.
- Wi-Fi 6 for low-latency wireless scanning
- USB Type-C plug-and-play connection
- Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), macOS 11 or newer, Android, iOS
- Tripod and phone holder included in every edition
Revo Scan Does the Post-Processing
Revo Scan is included free and handles the whole pipeline: capture, denoise, fuse, mesh, align multiple scans of the same part, and export. Files leave as PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, or FBX, so the scan drops straight into your slicer, your renderer, or your CAD reverse-engineering workflow without a format conversion step.
- Scanning, post-processing, and multi-scan alignment in one application
- Export PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, and FBX
- Free software updates, no subscription for Revo Scan
- Hands off to Revo Design for scan-to-CAD and Revo Measure for inspection
What the MINI 2 Is Good At
Working distance runs 120 mm to 250 mm, with a capture area from 52 x 64 mm up close to 168 x 132 mm at the far end. That envelope is what defines the sweet spot.
| Application | Why the MINI 2 suits it |
|---|---|
| Jewelry and small castings | 0.02 mm point distance resolves settings, filigree, and engraved detail |
| Dental and orthotic models | Fine surface capture on plaster and printed models for custom fitting |
| Machined parts and fittings | Sharp edges and small bores hold their shape for reverse engineering |
| Miniatures and collectibles | Full-color capture of sculpted detail for reprinting or archiving |
| Quality control | Scan-to-CAD deviation checks on small production parts |
| Artifacts and specimens | Non-contact digitizing of fragile objects down to 10 x 10 x 10 mm |
Objects larger than roughly 200 mm are better served by a scanner with a wider capture range, such as the Revopoint INSPIRE 2 or MetroY.
Standard or Advanced?
Both editions include the same scanner and the same accuracy. The difference is what you get to put the part on.
| Included | Standard | Advanced |
|---|---|---|
| MINI 2 scanner | Yes | Yes |
| Tripod and phone holder | Yes | Yes |
| Mini turntable | Yes | Yes |
| Dual-axis turntable | No | Yes |
| USB-C cables, 2-in-1 mobile cable, adapter | Yes | Yes |
| Carrying case | Yes | Yes |
| Calibration board, sample bust, markers | Yes | Yes |
| Best for | Detail work at a fixed bench setup | Repeat scanning and full-coverage captures |
The dual-axis turntable in the Advanced Edition tilts as it rotates, so one automated pass covers the top and the sides of a part instead of requiring a second setup to reach the upper surfaces. If you scan the same kind of object repeatedly, that is the time saver.
Frequently Asked Questions
How small an object can it scan?
The minimum scan volume is 10 x 10 x 10 mm. Below that there is not enough geometry for the scanner to lock onto, and you would want a microscope-class system instead.
How large an object can it scan?
There is no hard ceiling, since multiple scans can be aligned in Revo Scan, but the 120 mm to 250 mm working distance means larger objects take many passes. For anything much over 200 mm, a wider-range scanner is the faster tool.
Can it scan shiny or dark surfaces?
Not reliably without preparation. Reflective, transparent, and very dark surfaces scatter structured light poorly. A light coat of scanning spray or dry shampoo solves it, and the included markers help on smooth surfaces with little geometry to track.
Do I need to buy software?
No. Revo Scan is free and covers capture, processing, meshing, and export. Revo Design (scan-to-CAD) and Revo Measure (metrology and GD&T inspection) are separate paid applications for teams that need those steps.
Is the blue light safe?
The MINI 2 uses a Class 1 light source, which is the lowest risk classification and safe under normal use. Avoid staring directly into the projector at close range.
Can I scan with my phone?
Yes. Revo Scan runs on Android and iOS, and the scanner connects over Wi-Fi 6 or the included 2-in-1 mobile cable. A phone holder is included so the handset mounts to the scanner.
What computer do I need?
Windows minimum is an Intel i7 12th generation or better with 16 GB of RAM, with an i9 and 32 GB recommended. On macOS the minimum is an M1 Pro with 8 GB, with an M3 or better recommended. High-density scan data is demanding, and an underpowered machine shows it during fusion and meshing.
What file formats does it export?
PLY, OBJ, STL, ASC, 3MF, GLTF, and FBX.
