Utilize Remarkable CFR™ Technology

The parts manufactured on the Onyx Pro are extremely durable thanks to Markforged's Continuous Fiber Reinforcement (CFR™) technology which does the following in each print layer:

  • Thermoplastic forms the walls and infill with one nozzle
  • Second nozzle inlays fiberglass continuous fiber in user-specified leftover space between the walls & infill
  • Continuous fiber is bonded (reinforced) due to the nozzle heating and compressing the materials during the extrusion process

Continuous Reinforced Fiberglass 3D Printing Made Easy

Pure and simple—the Markforged Onyx Pro is optimized to print continuous fiberglass strands with Markforged Onyx, a micro carbon fiber-filled nylon material that yields accurate parts with a near-flawless surface finish. More than a million Onyx parts in the field are transforming manufacturing.

  • Onyx parts reinforced with fiberglass have comparable strength to some aluminum machined parts
  • Useful for a wide variety of applications
