3D Scanning Tips
- Set up your Matter and Form V2 3D Scanner as directed, and plug it directly into the computer's USB port - not a hub.
- Scan in a bright and evenly lit room. But refrain from facing the camera into excessively bright or reflective background elements such as windows, mirrors, computer screens, glass, or metal objects/surfaces.
- Recalibrate the 3D anytime it is moved.
- Ensure the 3D scanner latch is down and at a 90° angle.
- To secure unstable objects to the turntable, use plasticine, nonreflective tape, or custom mounts.
- Do not light the object in a way that casts a shadow.
- Only touch the object once the scanning process is complete.
- If you plan to use scanning powders or sprays, do so away from the 3D scanner's turntable.
- Only scan objects that fit onto the 3D scanner's turntable.
